We’re excited to announce an upgrade to our alarm testing program! We’ve heard your feedback and are transitioning from manual calls to a more efficient, automated system to ensure your personal emergency response system is always working when you need it most.
Introducing Lucy, Your Automated Calling Assistant
Our new automated system, which we’ve affectionately named Lucy, is designed to make testing your alarm simple and reliable. Instead of a live agent calling you directly, Lucy will now handle your monthly test calls.
These calls will be coming from 1-412-796-2772, which is the official STAAR Alert testing line. To ensure your system is working correctly, you can expect at least one call each month. If Lucy can't reach you, she'll try up to two more times. You can also call in to talk to Lucy directly at the number above!
Why Are We Calling You?
Our testing program is a vital part of your service. We want to confirm that your personal emergency response system is working properly and that we have the most up-to-date information for you.
For many of you, especially those whose systems are paid for by a health plan, this monthly test is a requirement to maintain your benefit. Your health plan will not authorize the use of the system if you don't participate in the monthly testing program.
How the Test Works
When you receive a call from Lucy, she'll guide you through a simple process:
Press Your Emergency Button: Lucy will prompt you to press the button on your personal emergency response system.
Connect with an Operator: Once your device connects, you will be speaking with an operator from Life Safety Monitoring.
Confirm Your Information: Please take a moment to confirm with the operator that they can hear you clearly. This is also the perfect time to update any new phone numbers or address information.
This is a critical step. Without your current information, we can’t provide you with the fast help you need in an emergency, which could cause a delay in help reaching you.
These Calls Are Not SPAM
We want to assure you that these monthly calls are not spam. They are automatically generated to confirm your service is working properly, which is essential to your safety.
